New Year Service

TEXTS: Luke 5:37-39, 2 Corinthians 5:17

Congregants convened for a new year service to worship and praise God for the gift of seeing a new year and also seek His guidance throughout the year with a fast declared for members of The Apostolic Church, Eket Field.

The Service commenced in the mid hours of the morning with coherent solemnity in worship, high praise, testimonies, Offerings, Choir ministrations, Bible reading, an intensive sermon amongst others and ended with whip and spur at noon.

Teaching the congregants, PASTOR EMMANUEL J. INYANGUDOH (JP) gave a contextual message as he spoke on the theme “REBRANDED FOR THE NEW YEAR”, admonishing the Church to let go of the things and sins of the past, turn a new leaf, put a stop to doing things in the same old way we used to do and expect to get a new result with a Biblical reference from Luke 5:36-39.

Following the harmonized order of service, these were the Officiating Ministers:

*Bro. David Mark as Chorus Leader.

*Pastor Ubong S. Inwang as the Moderator.

*Elder Nsikan Henry led in Solemn worship.

*Elder Samuel Edem was the Translator for the Service.

*Choral ministrations were received from these Choirs:

Main Choir, Sunday School Choir, Intermediate Choir and Youth Choir respectively.

*Foolishness is doing the same thing, the same way, everytime and expecting a different result.

*Every day and every sun rise is a second chance.

*We are admonished to rebrand our lifestyle and God will take us to our expected end.

*Give God your time.

*Stop expecting something different when you’re still walking in your old ways.

*God provided manna for the Children of Israel because they were walking through the wilderness, there was no time or a good place to cultivate, so, God provided the free food; but, when they were settled, they toiled and cultivated the land for their food..

*We are admonished not to sit without doing anything and expect to be fed.

*God is not a man that He should lie, He does whatever He says He will do at the right time.

*The word of God has everything and every answer we need. We will can’t see God Himself, that is why the provision of the Bible has been made for us to always consult God through it.

*Challenges are gifts from God, they are there to help us grow and get stabilized at a new centre of gravity, they are there to set our paths and groom us to be ready to get to our expected ends.

*Being in a stabilized centre of gravity means unwavering and cannot be shaken by the winds and storms of life; standing firm with a stronghold.

*The word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light in our paths.

*God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

*God is not a liar,He has never lied and will never lie.

The Apostolic Church Great Cobb Road wishes all A Very Happy and Prosperous New Year.
